Just saw the movie Dear John. The father in the story was an avid collector of coins. The coins are keeping him alive. I may never understand the magic about collecting coins but i’m sure it’s an interesting thing to do. You may want to buy silver bullion and start your own collection? Yup! I’m probably be going back to Bohol. I’ll never get tired of visiting the home of tarsiers and chocolate hills. Add to that the white powdery sand beaches. Ahh relaxation at its finest. I was supposed to go there last month but it was cancelled. My friend from Singapore had to cancel to attend to other important matters. Now, i might be going there with my friends at work. Well, i hope it’s going to push through. Rainy season is about to start, hope to go there while the sun is still out.

3rd time in Bantayan Island

Went to Bantayan Island last holy week. It’s my third time to be in that paradise island but it was my first time to be there during its peak season. Bantayan island is mostly visited during holy week. If rest of the places of the country is on a contemplative mood, Bantayan is partying. It made the place very controversial to a point that the partying was stopped.

I was with a different group of friends so it’s a different experience to begin with. Our tent was situated at the beach front so I spent most of my time just lazing. It was a good time to relax.

Disney World

I would consider myself lucky because i've been to the place people consider the most happiest on earth - Disneyland. Even luckier because i got to visit not just one but two destinations. First in California and second time around in Hongkong. White sands, serene beach - totally a fantastic view. This was taken last April (Holy Week) at El Nido in Palawan. I forgot the exact name of this island. We went island hopping for three consecutive days, it's difficult for me to memorize all the names of the island. However, each island has its specific characteristic and beauty that i cannot forget.

The trip from Puerto Princesa to El Nido was quite tiring but i wouldn't mind going there again. As usual, the more friends joining, the merrier is the trip!

Time flies so fast, i can't believe it's already October! I look at the calendar at work and I noticed that there's no non-working holiday scheduled this month. Too boring! We had lots of non-working holidays for the month of August and September. Almost every week is a short week at work because holidays either fall on a Friday or Monday. The next holiday will be at the end of the month yet. Can't wait! November 1 and 2, is supposedly non-working days but since November 01 is a Sunday, let's see if Friday will be declared a holiday.

I love to travel. I don't have the means to do it all the time nor can i go to all the places i like. But it's always nice to see new places when given the chance. It's always nice to have long weekends. Lucky for us, we didn't only have one but several long weekends last month. And for this month, we have 3 long weekends. We were off last Monday and last Friday. Another long weekend is this weekend since Monday, Sept 21, is a nationwide non-working holiday. My younger sisters are planning to go to the beach to celebrate their birthday on Sunday. The actual birthday is tomorrow, Sept 15 and they're going to Simala (town in South). Happy birthday sis! Two sisters, not twins, just born on the same day, one year apart. ;)

Our offshore counterparts will be envious again since we will be having another long weekend next week. The holiday is supposedly on Wednesday, but to support plant operations, management has decided to swap the holiday on Friday. I don't have plans yet but i might just stay at home and sleep. I wanna prep up my body physically for the said trip in August. I have planned to eat nutritious food more, exercise like go dancing or jog every other day or at least every weekend. But just like my other plans, all vanished into the thin air. I said i was gonna start yesterday the jog but i was just at home sleeping. baby gifts for the babies

At my age right now, it's probably not a question why most of my peers are either getting married or having babies. Last April, i just become a Godmother again to one of my college friends' daughter. Sadly though, i was not able to make it to the ceremony since i was out of town. Opps! I haven't gotten the baby a gift yet! Bad godmother eh! I'm just so busy really i don't even have the time to cut my nails. All the gifts the i've been giving to everyone lately are all belated ones. Hey, it's better late than never! With that being said, i'm thinking of getting some personalized baby gifts for my godchildren. I especially love these cute reilly towel and waschcloth towel set from Babynest. They also have this hat and sweater set. The flower cover up dress is so cute i think the baby wearing it would look even prettier. I think i could buy anything cute for the babies in this store. Our section summer outing was held last May 30 at Cebu Marine Resort in Mactan. It was a fine day for the gathering but the weather turned sour later in the afternoon. But 'twas ok since most of the activities were already done after lunch. Not all joined but majority were present.

I haven't tried playing paintball but i sure think that it's a fun thing to do. I think a group of colleagues at work are into this game. I've heard them talking about getting some kits and clothing. They should get some paintball marker package from Zephyrpaintball. Trip to Mindanao: Day 4 - back to Cebu

Since the boat left at around 4am already, i did not make it to work that working day. Good thing i was able to sleep during the voyage so i managed to get to the office at around 7pm and get some important things done. Oh by the way, boarding was really horrifying. Lots of queues before you can finally get inside the ship. There's the inspection, getting of ticket (i forgot what's the ticket for), another inspection, dog sniffing, etc. Then another queue just to get our beddings! We were offered free breakfast because of the departure delay. Anyhow, the great experience we had were all that mattered.

Trip to Mindanao: Day 3 - aftermath

The white water rafting was the climax of our trip to Mindanao. We were all drained up after the 3-day goofing. On May 7, Monday, was our scheduled trip back to Cebu. Original estimated time of departure was at 9:00pm, then moved to 12:00mn, then moved to 3:00am. We had to do something while waiting for the time. We all just wanna sleep but the boat is at 3:00am yet. So, here's us after the tiring but fun days...

Tsk, one long weekend has passed and i did nothing spectacular. I just wasted it by sleeping all day. Tsk bad bad. But you know you can't help it when sometimes you just feel tired that you can't get your butt to move. Well, at least i get to have long hours of sleep which i'm usually deprived of.

The white water rafting experience was totally super! I really can't believe i made it! I think i had called all the saints during the entire ride. If i may say, i was able to conquer my fears. But not that much since i did not jump from the raft and went swimming. It's just way too scary for me. :P

Trip to Mindanao: Day 3 in Cagayan de Oro

After two fun filled days in Camiguin, we then went to Cagayan de Oro the next day, April 7 for the highlight of our Mindanao trip - the white water rafting adventure. We took a bus to get to the port then get an hour or so barge ride bound to CDO. We arrived at the 'assembly area' at past 12:00 noon where we had our lunch. You could try some of their other adventures like canope walk and slide for life while waiting for your jeepney ride down to the starting point of the river for the white water rafting. We immediately took the ride bound to the starting point after lunch. We were divided into two groups. After a few minutes of general orientation and safety instructions, we were all set for the ride of our lives! There's no way i'd back out! Hek! Hek!

gloomy weekend

In continuation with the previous post, yes i did not go to Malapascua. I'm not that disappointed because my friends who were supposed to go there didn't go too. The weather wasn't really good :( The rain just come off and on. It gets so disappointing... They went to Hadsan instead (just around Lapulapu) and i was supposed to follow them but just when i was about to leave the house, the heavy rain poured!

Alright! Alright! The design and content of each blog is according to the discretion of the owner. I know that and I respect that. However, me as a blog hoper and lurker have this thing on others' blog that i kind of don't like.

I really don't like it when the blog doesn't have a picture nor a written profile about the author. Especially if it's a personal blog which is always the case of the blogs i often visit or exchange links with. I mean you read their blogs because you want to connect to their views, experiences, thoughts and rants perhaps but i find it less interesting if i cannot relate who the blogger or owner is. For mysterious reasons, without profiles might be catchy. Others may opt that way for privacy. Either way, I really prefer to read and lurk blogs with profiles especially if i don't know the blogger personally or i just met him/her online for the first time. There are exceptions though - that is when the entries or post are really interesting that i wouldn't mind if i do not know who the author is.

One of the few things i enjoy doing is scrapbooking. The world has evolved so we are now into digital scrapbooking. I always like to arrange photos, design photographs, add colors, texts or other images. Trip to Mindanao: Day 2 in Camiguin

Ok, here's the continuation entry for our trip to Mindanao - Day 2 in Camiguin. We woke up, ate breakfast, then took a 10 minute pump boat ride to White Island. The boat ride was short since the cottages we stayed at was near to the island. The beach was superb! Picturesque view - white sands, clear water, blue skies, sun beaming. What more can i ask? :)

We went to Katibawasan Falls in the afternoon after lunch. Took lots of photos as usual. Then went to Enigmata, had dinner and then went back to Ardent Hot Spring...

Trip to Mindanao: Day 1 in Camiguin

Finally, i made my first trip to the Southern part of the Philippines last April 4-7, 2008. We left Cebu City on April 4 @ 8:00pm aboard the Shuttle Ferry. We arrived in Camiguin port at 8:00am but was able to disembark at 10:00am already. Our patience was tested, it took time for the ship captain to get the ferry near the port because of the winds. There must be some better explanations for this but i can't explain any further. We then were met by the multicab driver my officemate's friend contacted for us. We ate our lunch first then went to our cottage. After changing clothes, we immediately hit the following places in chronological order:

1. Walkway to the Old volcano & Way of the Cross
2. Volcano Ruins
3. Sunken Cemetery
4. Sto. Nino Cold Spring
5. Ardent Hot Spring

Since I had a long weekend last weekend because of the Holy Week, i was contemplating not on my sins but on where to go to. However, i may not do all those traditional religious holy week stuff that most Catholics do but I normally would just stay at home. I could have gone to Bantayan Island with friends but for some reasons i did not. On Thursday i was so bored i asked my friend Glorie to hang out anywhere not at home. We ended up chatting and idling in Hadsan Cove, an old inexpensive beach resort around Lapulapu. It was not much of an eventful day but at least i was out... :D

Let's just say I'm no expert really when it comes to matters of the heart, specially with break ups. I have quite a few friends who are still under the verge of wallowing painful break ups with their boyfriends. The only best thing i could do is listen and be there for them all the time. One of the beach resorts that i consider a favorite one here in Lapulapu is Plantation Bay. Of course, to many (including me), it's more of an expensive resort. It's already holy week next week. I was planning on going to Simala with my mother to visit the Blessed Virgin but then I'm pretty sure it will be jam packed with lots of devotees. So our outing pushed through and what a way to start the first day of March than a day in the beach? Cool right? I did not go swimming though but I had fun just looking at the other people lazing in the sun, taking pictures and just by knowing that i had a different view other than the office you know. I felt lazy changing clothes later since i have to go to the airport after to pick up my friend who's visiting to Cebu. Serious tahay ko ani na pic! So... our department strategic planning pushed through last Friday in Tambuli West Beach Resort. The original plan was to hold the activity in Plantation Bay. I was more than excited then. Anyhow, the activity went fine and the venue and food wasn't bad after all. In fact, the food was great. The said activity was spearheaded by our senior manager, attended by the section managers and section lead engineers. Later after dinner, we enjoyed an hour or so at the pool. As what I anticipated, it's a long weekend for us. The HR people issued initially a memo that it's a working holiday on Monday. Gladly, the email was recalled and that it's officially a non-working holiday tomorrow. Hurray! I should not be writing this entry. I should be out on an another island escapade instead. But lousy as it seems, plans do change.

The trip to Sumilon wasn't all fun i tell you. It was the time of the year when nature is not at it's best - meaning windy and big waves to hurdle. The pumpboat could not make a stop to its supposedly port (there should be a better term for this) because the pumpboat will be crossing against the current. We stopped at the other side of the island instead and since it's not the original place for disembarking, there was no sturdy passage. Hurdling through the big waves while inside the pumpboat was already insanely terrifying, let alone climbing through the rocks of the island while my knees were still trembling? Whew! what an adventure!

I think this was taken some 3 years ago during one of our island hoppings within the islands of Mactan. I still look slimmer here, lol! The funny thing during this island hopping was that during the entire trip, i was just wearing my life jacket. It was windy that all i thought, wearing my life jacket was the only way to save my dear life should an untoward incident may happen. I didn't go swimming at all! I was just taking pictures, hek hek! That island hopping caused me to fear sea travels even more! Wahhh! :(
